About Copper
Copper has been used for centuries due to its durability, permanence and renowned rich appearance. Distinguished for its patina green colour, it ages over time to this classic finish, evoking a sense of warmth, opulence and unsurpassed quality. Today, the beauty of copper accentuates and enhances all types of architectural applications allowing freedom of expression in both historic and contemporary styles.
Following installation, copper will turn from its shiny orange color to various shades of bronze and green before reaching its final patina color. This process can take years, however, can be expedited by a special treatment for smaller areas. Copper is available in a variety of weights, and prior to fabrication and installation, proper planning and careful consideration must be given to its particular application in order to accommodate structural requirements. Initially, the cost of copper roofing can be higher than other applications, however, proper installation can provide a lifetime of protection with little or no maintenance. Copper can be used as an accent or architectural feature enabling its unique characteristics to showcase and compliment other exterior finishes and building materials.
